The story of a unique partnership between MFG, MNP and the wider rural community creating a protective buffer zone around the Betampona Reserve through forest restoration. Over the last 12 years, the plants have grown into native forest patches protecting the Reserve, nursery workers have become true experts and many villagers are convinced reforesters now. The project entered its 9th Phase and is still going strong!

The company J. Hunter Pearls collaborates closely with the traditional fishing right owners from surrounding communities to create the ideal environmental conditions for pearl oysters in the bay of Savusavu, Vanua Levu, Fiji. This blue economy approach combines conservation with economic returns, and wider ocean stewardship while diversifying sustainable livelihoods at community level.

This story zooms in on the integrated development approach the community of Savaia adopts to increase resilience against climate change. They have created a marine reserve to protect resources, promoted sustainable ecotourism providing new income at community level while also investing into food security and long-term education for their younger generations.

After a successful first edition, I am organizing the marine group travel for a 2nd time in November 2020. MORA Travel is a small-scale sustainable travel agency that has been organizing travels to Madagascar for over 20 years with a strong local team. This trip will give you an unique perspective of the biodiversity both at sea and on land in the North-Western part of the island, along with gorgeous landscapes and diverse ecosystems.

This video captures the adventures of our group travel in 2019, snorkeling along beautiful reefs, sailing along bays and islands, hiking in the tsingy, dry deciduous forests, up Amber Mountain, Nosy Hara and along Ramena's gorgeous bays, always in the excellent company of Madagascar's unique wildlife and lush vegetation. Getting a biofarm running in the 21st century is no easy career path... it takes guts, determination, a lot of passion, patience, .... and willingness to work around the clock 24/7. This inspiring couple has gone great lengths in creating and running their farm Dubbel Doel that produces high quality dairy and meat products locally, based on the principle of low input-low output and fully bio certified, while also engaging in social projects.

Since three years, my partner Frank Viaene and I embarked on a venture to further develop and enhance our skills and we started creating short films, be it for short documentaries, promotional material or graphic assignments. He is the drone pilot and an excellent editor and audio expert, I enjoy filming on land as well as underwater, while developing the script. It has been a great collaboration to do this as a team and we are open for different types of assignments. 

A video from our road trip in the Northern Part of Norway in the beautiful Lofoten, Vesteralen and Tromso surroundings. The landscapes are mindblowing, the fjords create dramatic scenery and the hiking opportunities are endless. This northern part of Europe was a real eye-opener for us and ideal for gaining more experience with drone filming overall, even if the weather was not always cooperative.. 

For AnFoundation’s 10th anniversary and HELP’s 20th anniversary a series of 4 videos were developed to show the evolution in their work, their target group, several success stories and some of their recent new programmes.This one describes how their work has evolved over the years. 

HELP does not just support education. They go beyond this by focusing on prevention of sexual harassment, organising trainings in leadership skills for their students, while also providing more support for the youth and a chance to exchange on their problems at home with a councelor.
