Conservation will always be an endless battle. Economic forces have yet to shift to sustainable practices, political powers have yet to value the nature on which we all depend every day.  Until that happens illegal practices will continue to deplete our precious natural resources.

Continuous enforcement is necessary to combat illegal logging, illegal hunting and illegal fishing...among many other unsustainable practices. While this is mainly the role of government agencies, NGOs and local organisations need to be watchdogs to complement these actions. They often play a crucial role in ensuring presence to deter illegal practices and by conducting patrols, often in hazardous circumstances.
